I know that the rigours of everyday living present plenty of opportunities for your upholstery to get dirty.

Here are some simple steps to stop any stains on your upholstery from becoming permanent.

• Don’t allow stains to set in. You need to act fast and make sure you clean up any spills by blotting them with a microfiber cloth as soon as possible.
• If you need some extra muscle to clear a stain try one of the stain guards commercially available.
• If there is an unpleasant odour coming from your upholstery try sprinkling baking soda onto the fabric. Leave it to sit for 15 to 20 minutes and then vacuum up the powder. Hopefully the smell with have gone.
